Tutorial Tuesday – Bows ‘r’ us

This nail tutorial is going to be really simple and minimalistic.

What you will need is

white nail polish or paint

black nail polish or paint

clear top coat

a brush

clear tape

First you start out with clean dry nails.

You are going to get a piece of the tape and lay it across the top of your nail. Make sure that  you press really hard at the edge so no paint or polish seeps through.

Next you are going to take the white and paint a french tip.

After you paint it take off the tape. After I took off the tape I saw that I needed a second coat. I just did this with the brush really carefully.

You are going to do this to all of your nails but the ring-finger.

Next is the bow. You are going to start out with a black dot in the  middle of your nail about three-quarters of the way up.

Then you are going to make the edges of the bow. You are going to paint vertical lines on either side of the bow and then you will paint to small lines going towards the dot.

Now you are going to colour it in. Don’t colour it in all the way and just use little lines so there are some space between them.

Next is the tails of the bow. You are going to paint a line down from the dot making sure to leave a space in-between the dot and the line. Then you are going to make a smaller line to make the end of the tail.

Do this twice.

Now all that is left is to wait for it to all dry and put on the topcoat.

Until next time Happy Painting!
